Good morning,
Yesterday, the crew finished cleaning the basement area of the building and remediating any areas that were impacted by water. This morning, we received results from the air quality testing.
The report states in part:
“Based on the conditions observed and the field-screening results summarized above, adverse health effects attributable to petroleum vapors from this incident are not anticipated for students or staff returning to the tested classrooms on September 8, 2026. In KEHS’s professional opinion, no further monitoring, screening, or sampling of indoor air is required and the students and faculty can return to school safely.”
Given that information, the Middle School will operate normally on September 8, 2026. Special thanks to our custodial and maintenance staff who assisted in getting this work done so quickly.
