Making News at the Middle School

We, the Jersey Shore Area Middle School Staff, believe:
    • We must encourage our students to understand the importance of knowledge in this ever-changing world, and therefore they need to be life-long learners.
    • We must create an environment of caring for student and the caring for each other in order for everyone to flourish.
    • We must challenge our students to grow academically by engaging them with technology and opportunities for higher order thinking skills to be utilized.
    • We must remember that we are all members of a global community that thrives with responsible citizens.

Pennies...for Pasta.  Support the JSAMS Builders Club raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  January 10 through January 31, 2018.  The Teacher Contact Group earning the most money to support finding a cure are treated to a free lunch supplied by the Olive Gardens restaurant. Here's how the fund raiser works:  January 10 the students will attend an assembly explaining what Leukemia and Lymphona are and the research involved in finding a cure.  Every day students are asked to contribute change until the last day of January.  On January 31st, there will be a wrap-up assembly to tell the students how much they earned and will be contributed to the society.  The winning class will be announced at the assembly.  We sincerely hope you are able to help you son or daughter bring in pennies for pasta.  We extend our gratitude to Olive Gardens for their generous give to the students for this fund raiser.

January 24 at 2 and 5:30 PM the middle school principals invite parents/guardians to meet in the Auditorium.  The topics will include description of the "School Performance Profile,"  what "growth" means on the PSSAs along with the goals of the assessment for preparing students to be educated citizens, and an opportunity to ask questions about middle school schedules and anything else of interest to families of middle school students.
