The central activity of drafting and design technicians is to help convert an idea in a designer’s mind to precise working specifications from which a product can be made. Students will acquire skill necessary to design and draft electrical circuits, machine structures, weldments or architectural plans. They will learn to create engineering plans, layouts and detailed drawings, charts, graphs, diagrams, and models. Students will learn the basics of CADD and then proceed to study fundamentals of drafting on a computer. The AutoCAD program allows students to learn three-dimensional solid model drafting through various software programs.

Partnership Programs
College credit for successful completion of the CADD program may be awarded at the Pennsylvania College of Technology Computer Aided Drafting and Design Program, specifically CAD 120.
