2016-2017 DESCRIPTIONS OF JSAE PTO FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS

CHAIRPERSON, CO-CHAIRPERSON & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

Lifetouch Fall/Spring PicturesVolunteers as needed

The PTO President seeks out a few volunteers the first week of school and in the spring to help students look their best for their school pictures.

 

Mixed BagsAndrea Decker

This is Andrea’s first year chairing. This fundraiser takes place October/November. Andrea will register our school with a Mixed Bags representative; order/disburse Mixed Bags packets; collect money with orders; enter orders online; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer within seven days; check all orders once received; setup parent pickup with the Principal; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed; handle any order discrepancies; and turn in all information to PTO President to be filed. Andrea will need volunteers to help with checking orders once received and with parent pickup.

 

Scholastic Book FairsLee Ann Weiss

This is Lee Ann’s third year chairing this event at JSAE. The first Scholastic Book Fair takes place in October and a BOGO in spring (March/April). Lee Ann will register our school with a Scholastic representative; coordinate dates with the Principal; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed; setup Book Fair when Scholastic arrives; recruit volunteers; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer within seven days; and tear down for Scholastic to pick-up. Lee Ann will need volunteers during the two weeks the Book Fairs are held and during Family Night in October.

 

Fall HarvestNicole Kephart

This event has replaced the Halloween Parade. It will be held during school hours and is NOT a community event. More details will follow in October.

 

Bulldog ApparelMichelle Davis

This is Michelle’s third year chairing this fundraiser. This fundraiser takes place in September/October/November. Michelle will work with the company and pick out apparel items; send home order forms; collect orders with money; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer within seven days; place orders with company; pickup apparel; coordinate a parent pickup with the Principal; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed; disburse any remaining apparel; handle any order discrepancies; and turn in all information to PTO President to be filed. Michelle will need volunteers to help with parent pickup and disburse the apparel once received.

 

Eichenlaub’s Kreation Kraft & KarryNicole Green

This is Nicole’s first year chairing. This fundraiser can take place anytime during the year. Nicole will send information home with students; have a location approved; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed or any other necessary paperwork required at desired location; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer within seven days; collect donations for raffles and baked goods; serve beverages and snacks; and setup, cleanup, and teardown. Nicole will need a couple volunteers to help with raffles and serve snacks during fundraiser.

 

Staff Appreciation Luncheon/Breakfast Anna Eck/Andrea Decker

This is Anna’s first year chairing the luncheon and Andrea’s first year chairing the breakfast. The Staff Appreciation Luncheon takes place in November during parent-teacher conferences and the Staff Appreciation Breakfast takes place in May during teacher appreciation week. They are both responsible to coordinate dates with the Principal; coordinate any payments with the PTO Treasurer for food and beverages that will be ordered within budget; setup and tear down; and cleanup.

 

Whoville Holiday HouseDonnica Confair

This is Donnica’s first year chairing this fundraiser. The students love to shop at the Whoville Holiday House for their families in December. Donnica will be responsible to coordinate dates with the Principal; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed; have information sent home with students; recruit volunteers; setup a signup sheet for teachers in the office; purchase items or work closely with the PTO Treasurer for online ordering; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer daily; and setup and tear down. Donnica will need volunteers to help a few hours during the school day, setting up, helping students with their purchases, and tear down.

 

Reading For EducationShannon Gottschall

This is Shannon’s third year chairing this fundraiser. This simple magazine fundraiser takes place in January. Shannon works with a Reading for Education representative; has packets sent home with students; collects packets; and submits packets to Reading for Education.

 

Gertrude HawkColette Dalton

This is Colette’s first year chairing this event. This fundraiser is held right before Easter. Colette will work with a Gertrude Hawk representative; have order forms sent home with students; collect orders with money; enter orders online; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer within seven days; coordinate dates with the Principal for parent pickup; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed ; sort candy; recruit volunteers for parent pickup; handle any order discrepancies; and turn in all information to the PTO President to be filed.

 

My School Color Run/Walk-A-ThonCrissy Lehman

This is Crissy’s first year chairing the My School Color Run and she chaired our Walk A Thon last school year. The My School Color Run is being held in September this year instead of a Walk A Thon in the spring. Crissy will work with a My School Color Run representative; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed or all necessary paperwork for location; have information sent home with students; collect money with registrant forms; submit registrant information; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer within seven days; assemble My School Color Runners packets when received; collect donations for raffles; order snacks through Food Service; purchase water for runners working closely with PTO Treasurer; setup and tear down of course; recruit volunteers; and turn in all information to the PTO President to be filed. Crissy will need several volunteers on the day of the event.

 

Spring RaffleAndrea Decker

This is Andrea’s first year chairing. Last year due to time restraint at the end of the school year we did not get to have our raffle. But this year we’re bringing it back along with the Spring Festival in May. Andrea will reach out to the community for donations for raffle prizes and get information out to the parents of the students to take home. The raffle will take place at the Spring Festival.

 

Spring FestivalDonnica Confair

This is Donnica’s first year chairing. Due to lack of participation and volunteers the past couple of years, we were unable to have the Spring Festival. This year we’re bringing it back along with the Spring Raffle in May. Donnica will coordinate dates with the Principal; submit a Community Use of School District Facilities Request form if needed; setup food, vendors, games, etc.; recruit volunteers; reach out to the community for donations if needed; purchase items or work closely with the PTO Treasurer for online ordering; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer; send home information with students; and recruit volunteers.

 

Kindergarten/5th Grade Promotions – (Kindergarten need volunteer/5th Grade – Jamie Brungard)

We are currently looking for a chairperson for Kindergarten. The chairperson is responsible to work closely with the Principal; order food/beverages within budget; setup; be present; recruit volunteers; and tear down and cleanup at each promotion. Dates for these promotions are still to be announced by the Principal. Please sign up if you are interested in chairing or volunteering at either promotion.

 

School StoreKatie Greenberg

This is Katie’s first year chairing and will take place during each quarter. Katie will order school store items or work closely with the PTO Treasurer for online ordering; submit money with a PTO cash form to the PTO Treasurer; and recruit volunteers to setup, tear down and help students with their purchases during school hours.

 

Box Tops for Education Heather Joscelyn

Heather was our coordinator in previous years and now she’s back! Our first collection date is September 26th and she will provide additional collection dates throughout the year. Heather works with a Box Tops representative; and collects, clips, counts, and submits the Box Tops for each collection period. Heather could use your help! If you would like to help count the Box Tops please contact Heather. Remember every label is worth $0.10!

 

Campbell’s Labels for EducationHeather Lape

This is Heather’s first year chairing this program in its last year. It’s pretty simple. Heather will just collect and submit labels to Campbell’s for points (no money value like Box Tops and Tyson Labels). During the year JSAE PTO can use these points for merchandise from Campbell’s catalog for prizes.

 

Giant A+ School RewardsAmber Lehman

This is Amber’s first year chairing. It is very simple. She will register our school every year prior to school starting and get information out to the parents. During October 7, 2016 to March 16, 2016 customers can help our school earn cash every time they shop using their BONUSCARD.

 

Tyson Project A+Amber Lehman

This is Amber’s first year chairing. This fundraiser is in its second year. It takes place all year round. It works like Box Tops for Education but each label is worth $0.24!! The only catch is that we need to submit a minimum of 100 labels.

 

Prang PowerSkye Mahosky

NEW PROGRAM! Skye Mahosky is chairing this new program. She will get information out to teachers and parents on how to clip and submit UPCs to the school. Each UPC is worth 1 point. Once we bank 300 UPCs, we can order FREE classroom supplies for our teachers.
