The Health & Medical Assisting CTE program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in related health occupations under the supervision of a licensed health care professional instructor. The curriculum consists of planned courses for the introduction of health careers, basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, legal and ethical aspects of health care and communications and at least three planned courses for the knowledge and skills for the occupational area such as patient care technician, medical assistant, ward clerk, nursing assistant, etc. In addition to core content, students receive clinical experiences in health-related occupations.
