Hello Jersey Shore Community,

As we enter November, cold weather is a reminder that winter weather is fast approaching.  Whether the district is closed, open, delayed or dismissed early is a decision that is made accounting for number of factors, and I will always try to be cautious and protect our students. I monitor the weather regularly during the winter months and keep track of potentially problematic road conditions. If I believe that there will be any issues, I consult with our transportation contractors, maintenance staff, regional superintendents, local Emergency Management, and other stakeholders to make an informed decision.  Again, this year, JSASD is approved to use Flexible Instruction Days to make sure that even if coming to school is not possible, students can continue to learn at home.

Colder weather brings illnesses in our buildings.  We have increased our cycle of disinfectant spraying and are cleaning high touch areas throughout the school day. We are aware of and responding to the recent cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.  Please help us keep everyone healthy by keeping sick students at home.

Remember that we will have a 2-hour early dismissal on October 31, 2025.

Parent-Teacher conference days are scheduled for November 24th and November 25th and students will not have school.  Please watch for communication from your student’s building to schedule.

The district will be closed on November 26th, 27th, 28th and December 1st.

Thank you,

Dr. Ulmer
