Diversified Occupations (DO) is a Career & Technical Education (CTE) program combining classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training for students in Grade 12, focusing on career pathways not offered at Jersey Shore. It prepares students for diverse careers through weekly seminars on employability and 15+ hours of weekly, supervised work experience.
The DO program at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School is designed to equip high school seniors with the essential skills and experiences needed to successfully enter the workforce. This comprehensive CT) course fosters career readiness through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The DO program not only prepares students for immediate employment but also instills lifelong skills that are invaluable in any career pursuit. By participating in this program, students gain a competitive edge in the workforce and lay a strong foundation for future professional endeavors.

Requirements
- Students are responsible for following established Work-Based Learning program procedures and the Training Agreement.
- Students must maintain good academic standing
- Students must attend DO class and be present in school to be eligible to work.
- Students must maintain good academic and employment standing to remain eligible to work.
- Students must complete weekly time logs and submit pay stubs.
- Students are responsible to complete training and eligibility requirements for employment and must adhere to workplace policies, including provision of uniforms.
- Students will follow all school district policies and guidelines. Violations could lead to job termination.
- If under the age of 18, the student will acquire a work permit prior to employment.
Required Coursework
DO students enroll in the Diversified Occupations course that meets every day during Period 1.
