This program is designed to introduce students to the skills necessary for success in a career in building maintenance. Students will be instructed in, and exposed to, building maintenance and trades skills at the basic, intermediate and advanced levels, based on their needs and abilities. These skills will include: basic safety (which includes personal protective equipment, performance safety, and what to do if an accident occurs); communication and human relations skills; and hands-on experiences (which provide exposure and practice in each of the building maintenance areas

Partnership Programs
Postsecondary credit for successful completion of the Building Maintenance program may be awarded by the following schools: Commonwealth Technical Institute; Community College of Allegheny County; Luzerne County Community College; Orleans Technical Institute. Students will participate in the OSHA safety training. After successful completion, students will receive certification in CareerSafe Safety Awareness Training Course.
