Construction Technology

Students in the Construction Technology Program are involved in many different kinds of construction activities.  Students learn to cut, fit, and assemble materials for the construction of buildings, highways, bridges, and many other structures.  Students will participate in classroom theory and hands-on projects with industry standard equipment and machines.  Students will also study blueprint development, interpretation, and estimating.


Course Overview

  • Learn the basic skills necessary to plan, organize and control resources to manage the overall construction process
  • Learn the technical knowledge and problem solving skills for a career in construction
  • Understand how to identify, define and compare design alternatives
  • Study necessary communication skills for the successful practice of the construction profession

Partnership Programs

College credit for successful completion of the Construction Technology program may be awarded at Harrisburg Area Community College and the Pennsylvania College of Technology in the Building Construction Technology program up to 12 credits.
