Remediation and Recovery

The State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP) Grant was awarded to Jersey Shore Area High School during the 2015-16 School Year.  The SSIP Grant is a $50,000, 3 year grant focusing on strategies for family support through remediation intervention and recovery.  The Jersey Shore Area Senior High School SSIP Initiative has three (3) goals.
  1.  Provide in-school and after-school remediation intervention for students identified by the Pennsylvania state Early Warning System.
  2. Provide in-school and out-of school recovery intervention for students who need additional support to get back on track for graduation through an on-line credit recovery program.
  3. Provide community outreach

Early Warning System

The Early Warning System (EWS) identifies students who may be in danger of falling behind academically by monitoring students through attendance, academics, and discipline.  Students identified as being “in-danger” are reported to the SSIP team.  A member of the SSIP team initiates remediation interventions to support the student.
