5.25.2021 Community Letter

Hello Jersey Shore Community,

The Emergency Connectivity Funds are set to be released on July 1, 2021. This is a 7.1 billion national investment in connectivity for schools and libraries. To better position school districts to receive this funding, schools are encouraged to participate in a statewide survey of their internet connectivity. PAIU has partnered with the Penn State Extension to improve their already existing data base. The Penn State Extension will provide districts a report of their district’s specific data set.

In an effort to identify the level of Internet access and connectivity that residents have within our school district, we are asking that you complete a short survey. The purpose of this survey is to identify broadband accessibility across the Commonwealth and to provide schools with data related to the Emergency Connectivity Funds. This is not a ‘required survey’ rather it serves as a resource to assist districts in collecting granular data related to broadband accessibility. This data will better prepare districts to identify their broadband needs as it relates to Emergency Connectivity Funds. More information can be accessed by clicking on the Flyer and Frequently Asked Questions link below.

The data collected will greatly assist our school district with obtaining local, state and federal broadband funding to provide additional resources to our students and families. The survey can be accessed athttps://tinyurl.com/broadbandsurveypa. Thank you in advance for your time in taking thissurvey!
