October 1, 2026 To the Jersey Shore School District community, Throughout this school year, I have challenged teachers to think purposefully about student instruction. One of the basic things that I asked them to do is to make sure that students are able to clearly articulate what they are learning. I am sharing this with parents and guardians so that you can help us with this – ask your students about their learning daily. As we near the end of the first marking period, please continue to check in on the progress of your children. Parent-Teacher conferences will take place on November 23rd and 24th. Watch for communications from the school buildings and classroom teachers to set up conferences. Remember that report cards will be provided electronically through our parent portal. Remember that students will not have school on Friday, October 9th and Monday, October 12th. We will dismiss 2 hours early on October 30th. Enjoy your day, Dr. Ulmer

Middle School Update 9.6.2026
September 6, 2026 Good morning, Yesterday, the crew finished cleaning the basement area of the building and remediating any areas that were impacted by water. This morning, we received results from the air quality testing. The report states in part:”Based on the conditions observed and the field-screening results summarized above, adverse health effects attributable to petroleum vapors from this incident are not anticipated for students or staff returning to the tested classrooms on September 8, 2026. In KEHS’s professional opinion, no further monitoring, screening, or sampling of indoor air is required and the students and faculty can return to school safely.” Given that information, the Middle School will operate normally on September 8, 2026. Special thanks to our custodial and maintenance staff who assisted in getting this work done so quickly. Thank you, Dr. Ulmer
Community Letter 9.3.2026
September 3, 2026 To the Jersey Shore School District community, I hope that this letter finds you all well and you were not significantly impacted by flooding. Many in our area were and the amount of road issues due to flooding and downed trees forced the need to close schools today. I want the community to be aware that surface flooding on Locust Street did impact the Middle School building on the Locust Street end only. Custodial and Maintenance staff responded quickly and cleaned up classroom spaces. The district has been in contact with our insurance provider and will be working with an external contractor to remediate the basement flooding and be sure that the building is clear for staff and students to return. September 1, 2026 To the Jersey Shore School District community, We had a great first few days of school. If you did not join us on Friday at the Thompson Street Stadium, make plans to join us soon. The Band did an awesome job kicking off the night. The youth league showed us a bright future. The cheerleaders had us all hyped up. The football team pulled off a big win. And we announced that the district received $5K from TMobile on our way towards the grand prize that would be used to rehab the stadium. Please see our social media for more details and to share the posts. This weekend, we will have time off to commemorate Labor Day. This holiday is set aside to recognize the contribution of the American worker to our society. When we return from break, our students will also be remembering September 11th. Please take time to reinforce the importance of these days with your students. Now that we are back in session, pay attention to our buses as they make their daily routes. Throughout our community, please watch for students that are waiting for buses and those that are walking to and from school. Remember that the district will be closed on September 4th and 7th for the holiday weekend. We will be closed to students on Friday, October 9th and Monday, October 12th.
