Hello Jersey Shore Community,
Today, the Governor issued a statement about removing the mask mandate. Our Board-approved Health and Safety Plan states that masks are not required unless there is an order in place. That means that JSASD will not require masks beginning on January 17, 2022.
The public relations information from The Governor’s Office can be found here – Click here.
In a communication today from the Secretary of Education, School Districts were told “Additional clarifying guidance, including frequently asked questions, will be provided in the next few weeks as schools prepare for the return to local control of face masking requirements.” I will continue to share information as it becomes available.
While this seems far off, with Holiday breaks coming, there are only 35 days of school between now and January 17th.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
Dr. Ulmer
