I’m sending this message mid-day to let you all know that I am taking immediate action based on today’s Commonwealth Court decision. Judge Christine Cannon has ruled in favor of the parent’s lawsuit and has ordered that the mask order is voided and unenforceable and must be changed immediately. As of minutes ago, I sent a message to each building principal after talking to them on the phone and that announcement has been made in our schools. We cannot require students or staff to wear masks based on the judge’s order. I have confirmed that with our district solicitor and we have immediately made that announcement in compliance with the judge’s ruling. I am sending this message to allow parents and community members to know that that we will return to our Health and Safety plan that’s board approved that says we will follow orders in place. Since the order is not in place, staff and student are not required to wear masks in the district at this point. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this legal process.
