JSASD Little Free Libraries

Have you heard about JSASD’s Little Free Libraries?

LFL’s inspire a love of reading, build community, and spark creativity using a neighborhood book sharing box. Our libraries are filled with donated books for sharing. Patrons can peruse the shelves, take a book, leave a book, or both. Always open, always free. Each library is conveniently located outside each elementary school building to share children’s literature with our newest readers; Avis and Salladasburg libraries can be found outside their main entrance, JSE’s library is outside the kindergarten wing at building door N.

Our libraries were conceived, constructed, and designed by a community of students, for students. Thank you to Mr. Heath Rager’s Woodshop students and Building Maintenance students, Mrs. English’s Key Club students, Student artists – Trynne Fladd (Class of 2022), Hailey Crowley (Class of 2020), Natalie Hayes (Class of 2022), and the 192 kindergarten students who had a “hand” in helping our libraries come to life. We use local stewards to monitor and stock the libraries.

It is our hope that these libraries will bring a little more joy, a little more connection, and a whole lot more books to our community. So join the movement to share books, bring people together, and create communities of readers!
