Community Letter 12.22.23

Season’s Greetings Jersey Shore Community,

Entering the Holiday season, many think about the New Year as a time for resolutions about what we will make happen in the next year. This year, as our students come home for the Holiday Break, I encourage you to ask them about their dreams and wishes.

This month, the much-anticipated movie Wonka has been released. In it, Willy’s mother tells him “Every good thing in this world started with a dream. So, you hold on to yours. And when you do share your chocolate with the world, I’ll be right there beside you.”

At JSASD, we have a set a goal of providing opportunities for our students to prepare for their future. We want parents to partner in that effort. While we might not be there beside them after they leave us, our job is to make sure that each child has the skills they need to reach their goals.

One of the greatest children’s Holiday movies, The Polar Express said it best:

        We were dreamers
        Not so long ago
        But one by one,
We all had to grow up …

When it seems that we have lost our way
We find ourselves again on Christmas day.

May your dreams come true. Here is to a wonderful 2024,

Dr. Ulmer
