Community Letter 11.9.23

November 9, 2023

Hello Jersey Shore Community,

There has been a lot of discussion and media print expended on tomorrow’s football game. I am taking the time to send this letter to ask you to continue to support our football team and coaches as they return to Selinsgrove for the District 4 final. One of our coaches said it best, “this is a story that you could not even write.” While it will be painful for many, we will get through it together as a community – as we have throughout this fall season.

In the last two months, these young men have shown their integrity, respect, strength and character. They have brought the school community together through an incredibly difficult season in ways that have amazed so many.

Since week 3 of the season, myself and other members of the staff have been meeting regularly with the team and coaches to support them. This week, I told them that I was proud of them and that I wanted them to continue to show their character. There have been many emotional moments in Jersey Shore football this year and Friday night will be no different.

Please don’t forget that Selinsgrove players and staff were present during the tragedy and they have struggled in their own way. Their administration and coaches have been gracious and supportive to the Bulldog Nation.

Join me in Selinsgrove to cheer on the team. Once again, I have no doubt that they will make us proud.

4 the Bulldogs,

Dr. Ulmer
