Hello Jersey Shore Community,
We had a great start to the school year and are looking forward to Fall.
If you have not registered for a parent portal account, please check out the information on our website under the Parent tab. This will be the avenue we will use to distribute report card information starting at the end of the first marking period.
Please note that the district has updated Board Policy 216, and it will be finalized at the next Board meeting. The important change is regarding parents updating custody orders. It reads “It is the obligation of parents and guardians to provide the district with any custody documentation upon enrollment of a student and within two weeks of any court orders. Failure to do so absolves district officials from acting contrary to custody orders in the event that the parent has failed to contact the office of the Student Data Coordinator and provided appropriate documentation.” The District cannot respond to orders that it does not possess. In addition, it is the position of the District, Law Enforcement, the Solicitor and Children and Youth that if custody is shared, all guardians have access to the child unless they are barred from access. Custodial disputes must be settled in front of a judge, not in the pickup line at the school.
As the weather starts to turn colder, please remember that we ask you to keep students home if they are sick.
