The Jersey Shore Area School District is pleased to announce the award of $600,000 in funding
for critical upgrades to the HVAC system at Jersey Shore Area High School and Avis Elementary
School. This funding will specifically target the ventilation system in the Career and Technical
Education Building and Property Maintenance classroom as well as HVAC equipment upgrades
at Avis Elementary School.
The Jersey Shore Area School District Board of Directors and Buildings and Grounds committee
worked with administration to prioritize these projects to make learning spaces safe, warm and
dry. This is a significant investment that will enhance the safety and comfort of students and
staff by reducing fire risks and improving air quality throughout the facilities.
The district would like to thank Sen. Gene Yaw, Rep. Joe Hamm and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz
who supported the district’s application to the PA Department of Community and Economic
Development’s Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program. I also want to recognize our
partners from Sitelogiq who advised us in our grant application process.
As Superintendent, I am proud of the work that the internal team did to make this grant
funding a reality. It will go a long way to help us stretch local dollars in maintaining our district
facilities. The district will be working quickly to ensure that students and staff will benefit from
improved conditions as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Dr. Ulmer
