Greetings Jersey Shore Community,
The Groundhog says that we are going to see more weeks of winter. That being the case, please remember that there are many factors that play into the decision to delay, dismiss, close or move schools to remote learning. I try to make the most informed decision that I can and err on the side of caution to keep people safe. As the parent of a new driver, I am keenly aware of the stress that a parent feels in putting their student driver on the road or on a bus with someone else.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen an increase in student and staff winter illnesses. I want you to know that our custodial staff have increased the rotation of spraying disinfectant as well as stepped up efforts in sanitizing high touch surfaces throughout the school day. They take pride in keeping our buildings clean. Please help us in this effort by keeping students who are sick home from school. Parents and legal guardians can excuse a student for up to 10 days per school year for illness. Please use those days wisely to stop the spread of sickness.
If you have a high school senior, please check our website for senior information and scholarship notices.
If you have a student who could attend kindergarten next year, please see the website for information on kindergarten registration. Please also share this information!
Students will not have school on Friday, February 14th or Monday, February 17th. Please also note that the Board of Directors approved the 2025-2026 calendar, and it is available on the website.
Thank you,
Dr. Ulmer
