You will be seeing new signs going up on School Road (the road from the High school down to the Middle School) that signify that this road is permanently becoming a one way street. We have had numerous issues with traffic patterns and near accidents over the years. After discussion with various agencies and administration, making the road one way from Shaffer Lane to Locust St. provided the best and safest solution.
The only entrance to the HS will be off of Shaffer Lane with the exit being at Cemetery St. and Locust St.
This traffic pattern is already true for certain times of the day, what we are doing is just making this traffic pattern permanent for the entire day. There may be a learning curve with this, so we will have event and security staff helping out for a while to make sure people go the correct ways, but please take notice to the signs. There will also be signs directing people to the HS entrance off of Shaffer Lane.
We know this may create some inconvenience for those that may like to sneak out the back road after school, but this change provides a safer and more efficient pattern all the way around (it will just take some getting used to).
This change is in place as of today 8/18/21, so please make sure you are entering the High School off of Shaffer Lane.
