Members of the Orange and Black Yearbook Staff at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School were recently presented with the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Gold Level Award for their 2023 yearbook. Jersey Shore is one of just 22 schools in the entire state to receive this highest level award.

The award is presented by Jostens and recognizes excellence in yearbook creation. In order to achieve the gold level – the highest level possible – there are three criteria: Meeting deadlines, book sales, and student coverage.

“I’m so proud of the students for achieving this award for the third straight year,” said Mrs. Janna Riggle, advisor. “I am most proud of the fact that our 2023 yearbook featured photos of 88% of the student body in the book at least three times. Jostens sets a goal of 50% and our students shattered that.”

The yearbook staff is now working on the 2024 yearbook and has set a goal of earning the Gold Level award once again.

“I have no doubt that these yearbook staff members will continue to make us proud with their outstanding efforts,” Mrs. Riggle said.
