Meetings

Please join us on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm in the Avis Elementary library. Meetings are open to all parents/family members of Avis students. The PTO is always looking for new and fresh ideas, we would love to have you join us!

Volunteers

Volunteers in the Jersey Shore Area School District must submit the following before they will be permitted to volunteer within the district.

  1. JSASD Volunteer Application
  2. Act 34 State Policy Criminal History Record
  3. Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance
  4. Tuberculosis Test
  5. PDE-6004 Form
  6. Federal Criminal History Record (For individuals who HAVE NOT resided in Pennsylvania for the past 10 consecutive years.)

Take completed application, original clearances, tuberculosis test results and PDE-6004 form to the school office. All completed paperwork must be submitted together at one time.

Volunteer clearances must be renewed every five (5) years. The Volunteer Affirmation must be submitted in the years that clearances are not required to be renewed.

PTO Membership

We encourage all parents and family members of Avis students to join our PTO. Membership forms are sent home with students at the beginning of each school year.  Please complete this form and send it back into school with your $5 donation (per member). Need a new form? Please ask! 

 Fundraisers

Fundraisers are crucial for the PTO to continue its activities for our students.  Below is a list of fundraisers we may have this school year. 
 

  • School store – 3rd Friday of every month, 7:00-7:40am

  • Popcorn Day – 2nd Thursday of every month

  • Scholastic Book Fair

  • Pumpkin Decorating Contest

  • Walk-a-Thon

  • Marianna’s subs and pizza

  • RaiseRight gift card fundraiser  

  • Santa’s Workshop

  • Anything but a backpack 

  • Lollipop sale (Valentines day)

  • Gardners Candy 

  • Gym Teacher for a day 

  • Tape the principal

Where does all this money go?

The PTO helps support students and teachers by providing money (& volunteers) for:
  • Field Trips
  • Holiday Parties (Fall, Holiday & Valentines Day)
  • Fall Pumpkin Patch/Hay Ride   
  • Family night/Santa’s Workshop
  • Glow Dance 
  • Mobile Ag Lab
